Vintage Buck Displays

Hello All!

I have purchased two of the old Buck Retail displays on the 'bay.
Both are in pretty good shape but I am thinking about refinishing them.
Question: Do you think this would devalue the display?
I dont plan to sell either one of them but am trying to decide to leave as is for authenticity or refinish to improve overall appearance.

Thoughts?

thanks!!

I guess it depends on just how 'worn' the cases are and what you are collecting. If you collect older Bucks, then I would leave the cases in their weathered condition. If on the other hand, your collection is of newer Bucks, then a refinish may be in order.

I just leave mine as they are; and some of the knives are mint...others are old users given a place to rest.

Mine is the older countertop model where the tray of knives slides out the back, and holds 18 folders. I got it for $70 at a store going out of business. It had a few very small nicks so I left it as is.
