Question:
Does anyone have any info about a folding, non-locking 8" hunter with a synthetic stag handle and single clip-blade? It was given to me during a basement clean-out in unused condition. I'm taking an informed guess that it is from the mid-seventies or so. Tang-stamp reads 'Camillus New York USA' and the back of the tang is stamped simply with an '8'. The blade is etched 'Adventurer BSA' with a fleur de lis behind the copy. It has nickel-silver bolsters only on the joint-end, and a brass-lined lanyard hole. There is a black leather sheath with the B.S.A. logo stamped on the flap. Sorry... no batteries in my camera at the moment, but a photo will be forthcoming.
Thanks.

It's a little known fact, but Charlie Manson designed that knife. He thought that by doing something nice, "For the children, you know...", he might be able to shave a few years off his life sentence (or at least boost his public image, and increase his record sales). Of course, this didn't work for him, and it wasn't exactly a PR success for Camillus, either. Whether this little faux pas contributed to their 2007 demise is still a topic of debate among Camillus aficionados. As for Charlie, he's still doing time, composing gentle ballads with his guitar, and waiting for Geraldo to come back for a follow-up interview. :D
