Vintage Case XX Bulldog Question

Anyone know during what time period Case made the Bulldog knives that had a bail?

A 5172 Bulldog with a bail was never a standard catalog item. Bail was either added by a user, or it was a special factory order. For many years, Case would add bails to any pattern for an extra charge to dealers.

The 5172 Bulldog was in the Case line from the ealry 60's until 1969-1970.

I have only ever seen one that had a bail and that was on Ebay not "in person".

Not factory IMO...a factory bail would be pinned on.
