Vintage Collins axe head?

This axe head was recently found at my camp. I have no idea when it was made or whether or not it is any good.
Any information on it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

no, Collins Legitimus axes are good uns. That one looks like its got some good life left it in. Check out yesteryear tools for information on Collins and their legitimus brand/line/marking.

It's a good axe. It's got a little bit of mushrooming on the poll but not too bad. The bit looks very good.

Very nice. Is that a rare enough stamp to help with dating? (I've seen the arm and crown with "legitimus", but not with "old timer".)

UPDATE:I have given it a vinegar bath and removed the mushrooming.

Post pics once you get her hanged. Sure is a nice find and I think that Collins is a Maine pattern or maybe a Dayton?
