Is anyone here interested in vintage fishing reels?

Specifically, I have a Shakespeare WonderCast No.1775 that I'll give away if anyone wants it. Based on eBay prices it's not worth much but I'd rather send it off to someone who would like it rather than chuck it into the dumpster.

It's in fine shape mechanically, and the lettering is in very good condition. A few dings in the dark green paint. Sadly the cream-colored plastic handles are disintegrating.

Let me know...

Bob W, If you have any Boy Scout troops in your area, they would really appreciate things like this. I have donated probably 20 to 30 rods, reels, bait, tackle boxes, etc. along with some of the "duplicate" knives I have accumlated over the years. Same thought as you, why pitch it when someone else can find a treasure in it? With the economy the way it is, it really helps out the kids whose parents sometimes can't afford to buy these extra things for them for one reason or another. And besides, picture a 9 or 10 year old catching his first 5lb. largemouth on your rod.... sweet. :)

that is a great idea. donate it.. perhaps a youth organization or anything like that

This one's too old to make a good user, especially with the broken handles. :(

What I'll probably do, unless someone posts they want it, is donate it to the next charity yard sale. Should be good for a dollar. Even if not particularly collectible, it would make a neat display item for an outdoorsman's den or library.
