Got this one in last week. It's fun to swing! It came ready to work, the bit needed touched up but seems a decent hanging was done with nice grain in the handle. 4 lb head. 11 7/8" x 4 5/8" cutting edges.

I'm pleased with it, he did a good job on the sheath, 9-10 oz leather, fits nice and snug. He sanded the handle which is ok but wondering if I should rub it with some linseed oil.

Well pics are nothing to judge by, but it does appear as thought it is ready for BLO. I'd put some on anyway, especially to see if the end grain really soaks it up or not.

Nevermind the 'sprucing up' advice. There are no excuses (except maybe old age and infirmity) for your not getting out there and using this baby 'as is', and enjoying it.

Definitely going to put BLO on this weekend and use it. I used it awhile this past Sunday, wasn't as sharp as I like so I sharpened it and put it away, will give it another go this weekend.

Haha, well I'm a lot closer to 60 than 50 and holding up well physically, now my wife might argue the mental state!
