Howdy Folks! 🤠 I dropped by seeking some info about Helle knives. I’ll start off being a Swede I have an interest in Scandinavian blades. Morakniv has an extensive documented history. Helle not so much. Helle is a younger company. I was able to purchase a Helle Fjellkniven No.1. It has a laminated blade, stacked reindeer antler with reindeer leather spacers. It’s really cool and the sheath is in good shape. So I have a question and here it is. When did Helle start using an acid etching to display their logo on the blade?
That’s it! Any info would be great!

I also collect and use Nordic knives; esp. Finnish Puukko, but have several Helle (10), older Mora (ca.1950- laminated blades).
I really like Helle knives. Well made and durable, hold an excellent edge ( laminated blades). They were founded in the 1930s.
I don't know exactly when they started using acid etching, but would guess (?) circa 1970-80s. Just a guess. Some of my Helle are stamped, some later
ones are etched. Which ever style marking, they are really good knives.

Have tried asking guys at Ragweed? Or check the Helle website (info on markings no published on it), but perhaps email them
Nice find.

That’s a neat little knife. I’ve never seen one like that. Thanks for sharing.
