First I will say Hi all! I enjoyed few days of reading forum while did some tinkering.
For the fun part I had trouble in which discussion post this thread. I had to choose between kitchen knives, heirlooms or here :jerkit:
So the story goes like this.
I had this knife as a pile of steel junk, not sorted pile of junk
Got sick, nothing serious, just to have 2 weeks off from work and got bored.
I did some cleaning little bit of filing and sanding here and there.
I added rubber spacers between wood handles and blade, handles were damaged
and didn't fit anymore, before they were loose so that was my remedy There's still some uneven shape in handle space
which I grinned on one side because it was bad.
I used M4 Allen bolts and nuts for the other side. I repaired some of the hole damage with epoxy
and I used it to fit nuts.
Blade was cleaned and sharpen little bit. Because of weight it is seriously too dangerous to have it sharpened.

Knife specs goes like this.
It is a vintage kitchen knife.
J.A Henckels Solingen Zwilling
Zwilling is Twin, like Gemini and it's company logo.
Don't have weight but it's really heavy.
Dimensions:
19inch49cm Long
13inch/33cm Edge
10mm thickest point ('ish after cleaning)
7mm throughout edge
Thin sharpened edge
Edge is cracked in few places and if you consider size and weight of this device...
I think somebody used it as a butcher knife and to ease with cutting through some hard stuff combined a hammer with it. Real designation of this tool is to split lobsters. Ascetics of this tool are simple, I wanted to keep it as stock as possible. Just cleaning and some hot rod handle pins swap
Don't know its age but it might have some. I don't think it will be used in kitchen again, so I decided to make it stylish... ;-)
....and it also makes sounds.

...and rest you can see on pictures.
