Hi everyone, I'm Dave. Long time enthusiast and collector, first time visitor to your community. I saw how insightful everyone was with the last mystery knife post so I brought out mine. The other day I was downsizing my collection and came across a knife that's been in a box of other knives for a long time. It appears old and in fair condition for the age. I did a cursory web search under the manufacturer name and came up empty. The sheath is obviously not the original but I still found it to have some charm if nothing else. Imgur link of pics.

Mind if we plant a few pics here so everyone doesn't need to go off site unless they want to see all pics?

Ask in Bernard Levine's forum here - https://www.bladeforums.com/forums/bernard-levines-knife-collecting-identification.691/ .

Interesting knife, it is related to the J Russell knife company of Mass. I checked some pages of a 1884 catalog I have a photocopy of, and there a few similar knives, but they look lighter in build, and more lozenge shaped in handle. If everything is correct with it, It probably will date earlier than that by some. I would get a few opinions in it though.

The edge grind height is a bit short, and that gives me some pause.
