Hi Everyone,
I purchased this at an estate sale this past weekend. I am not even sure what it is exactly. The man it belonged to was in the Navy in the 40's and 50's and lots of memorabilia from that time frame. Any information on what it is and of course value would be appreciated. Definitely willing to sell. I would like a collector or someone that would appreciate it to have it. Thanks!

Apologies to the OP - your post didn't indicate you had upgraded your membership when I first viewed it.

The post is fine he is and was gold when it was moved

The address goes to a block of an older market area full of street vendors (노점) sort of in between the famous palace (경복궁) and DDP (동대문디자인프라자) on the road ending at a another famous part of the old city wall/gate (동대문). Given that, I'd assume it's a generic souvenir.

Edit to add, if there's significance, I'd probably try tracking down info myself or someone knowledgeable in Korean black lacquerware/MOP. It has cultural significance, so there's lots of experts and info out there on what's good quality and how to date things.

What are the dimensions? Blade length and overall.
That knife shows distinctly traditional Korean design, the round handle and kaljib.
But the dragon reeks a bit of a tourist souvenir.
