Hello, I'm new to this site and was hoping someone could give me some advise... I have a vintage marbles pocket axe it looks to be a no. 2 or no. 3 style hatchet. The issue I'm having is identifying what it actually is because it does not have the stamp that identifies it as a no. 2 or no.3 it does say marbles gladstone michigan on the handle, head and on the safety mechanism along with the patent number. The overall condition of the hatchet is pretty good with the head being in almost untouched condition. If anybody considers them self a marbles expert or know where I could find one please comment. I tried to upload some pics but was unable to for some reason... maybe someone could help me with that too.

I know nothing about Marbles axes. Here are two old ads from my files that might help.

Is it a three screw or a two screw scale on the handle? If a three screw some were stamped under the axe head. If you can post a picture it would help. Does it say Marbles Safety Axe Company on the guard?
