Vintage Northfield

Just an outstanding old Northfield . I am afraid that I can not help or give you much information about it . It can be noted that there were a few old Cattaraugus models also named Hunter's Pride that looked about the same size that also had a locking blade . I think that your new found Northfield will clean up very well and you are going to have an excellent knife to remember your Grandfather by . Congrats my friend !!!!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Catt Hunter's Pride were liner locks and about 4 3/8" closed this knife I believe is larger then that. Your knife unless I'm mistaken is a Folding lockback hunter. Nice knife. Can you post a couple of pictures of it after you cleaned it up?

That's a great find, hard to find knife, congratulations. Just a heads up, be very careful cleaning around the etch, you don't want to lose it, etch's on vintage knives add quite a bit of value to the knife, very few survive with the etch.

Personally I would just oil it. It is a great knife with a lot of character, and I’m sure it has some sentimental value to you.

I don’t plan on using any abrasive on the knife. I’ve added oil to the pivot and sharpened it. The rest of everything will simply have to wear in.

Thank you all.
