Hi all,
I found a vintage lil' Rogers Smith & Co. lil' knife today while "Thrift Store" shopping. It's cute as a Bug and cost me an entire 99 cents. A Google search shows it is a lil' Fruit Knife. I am really digging this lil' knife. I don't know if it is because of it's size/age/shape or what but, I can stop handling this lil' vintage knife, it just too cool. This "Fruit Knife" is just a bit over 6"OAL and has about a 3" blade which is very thin! My question is, might such a knife as this take an edge ? I will be sending a few knives and Axe/Hatchet Heads to Richard J. next week to be sharpened and thought I might ask Mr. J do his magic on this lil' knife if possible. I'm thinking this knife would make a cool lil' pocket type Scalpel. In fact (in general) are old "Silver Flat Ware" Kitchen (Butter) knives capable of being made into a usable SHARP knives ? Would such old steel be able to hold an edge ? Thanks for any information provided.
Regards,
HARDBALL
