I own a victorinox swiss army knife, I have had it 30 years and it is sentimental to me. It needs the two knives replaced and it had the Long nail file which after many years of use and misuse, popped out and then was lost. I have spoken to the US and Canadian reps and they don’t seem to want to answer me they tell me just to send it in and they will get back to me. My question is can they repair my knife and return it in the same configuration that it was in when it was new? I don’t want a replacement and would just put it on my shelf if not. I would appreciate any feedback. Thank you.

First, welcome aboard.

Second, this sub forum is for tech support with the forum itself. You need to ask this question in one of the knife discussion areas.

Third, it is quite possible that the blades have changed enough over the last 30 years that they may not be able to fit the new blades to your old frame. The lost blade may not be available at all. The only way to be certain is to send it in for them to examine. If it holds great sentimental value, I'd suggest retiring it as-is.

I just saw Megafactory on Nat Geo about Vicorinox. I suggest send it in. If parts are no longer available, they might make you one, quoting the cost. Or you might opt to have it back as it is.

They have great CS!

I have a Victorinox Mauser Officers Knife I've also had 30 years. The corkscrew has bent very slightly over the years, which makes it sit slightly proud when folded. I'd also like to get it fixed, but am concerned about the knife simply being replaced. I have a Wenger World Scout Knife, one of the first produced, which the company sent me, but when the scissors broke some years ago and I returned it to the UK agent, what I got back was a different knife (it didn't have the blade etching and the blade was blunt). I'd hate for this to happen with my Mauser.

One option is to send them email and communicate precisely the service and requirement, so that someone over the service team will note the specific request. If you decide to try, please share with us the result, and good luck!

WOW ! Thank you all for such quick and intelligent replies. I apologize for posting in the incorrect forum. This knife was given to me by my father when I was 13 and it was his to start and at the time I could tell he didn’t want to give to me but I asked him if I could have it for 3 or 4 years and so much he finally gave in . As the years passed I used it for everything it was meant for and then some, it has been across the country and back with me and I never really thought much about it, however the past few years it has occurred to me how much it means to me so having it replaced is out of the question. I did take multiple pictures and email them with a long description of its condition and what it meant to me and the response that was sent back was “ send it in and we will see what we can do “ . I think after the information that you all have provided me with has made my decision that it is going on the shelf with all the other memorabilia and I will buy a new one. I just bought a BOKER MAGNUM it is an inexpensive starter switch blade but I have gotten a bug to buy another knife I will be looking around this site and reading up on things. Thank you.
