SOLD -- THANKS TO ALL

Above pic was taken by Daniel Koster of this vintage WWII Indian officer's khukuri before he sold it to me a couple of years ago. This was also taken before he cleaned up the edge by applying a beautiful convex bevel (see pic below). The knife has a rare integral guard and handle slabs of buffalo horn and elephant ivory. Closeup below of handle shows some pitting on horn—ivory is in very good condition. Includes (as shown above) karda and chakma, with horn handles in fair-to-poor condition, and leather sheath that shows a lifetime of use and wear. Knife itself is solid, handles are tight, and would be ready for use as is with a new sheath. Balance in hand is just right--obviously built by a skilled craftsman for a special client.

$325 $295 $275 $245 $219 $195 SOLD TO NIKOKNIFE48 shipped/insured in conus. Price includes insured Priority Mail shipping in conus. Postal money order only--not set up for Paypal.

This is a sweet piece of history with rare integral guard and ivory. It's solid, in ready-to-go condition, with a convex edge by Daniel Koster and at a price that means you won't have to make a wall hanger out of it. Take it out and enjoy using it--and when a friend, or a guest in camp, or your son or grandson asks you about it, you'll have a cool story to tell and something special to pass along. Where can you get all that these days for less than $200?

This khukuri is easily 70 years old -- a premium piece of history made by a master craftsman employing advanced techniques and elegant materials for an obviously knowledgeable and demanding client. This is no tourist item or replica or run-of-the-mill relic. This is very good stuff, ready to be enjoyed and used as is.

Just clarifying this has an integral guard? Do you have any close-up / clear pics of the integral guard and handle?

That is precisely the case. The blade, guard/bolster and tapered tang are all one piece of steel. Premium construction here, far above what you will typically find on today's import pieces. The spine is nicely crowned as well:

Pommel is in shadow here, but there is a good shot of that above. Also see "Dan's convex edge" pic above for clear side-view of integral guard/bolster.

Thanks,
Will
