Hey y'all. So I did some very basic, minor research in viper knives and for the most part, they were received well. It seems like a fairly knew model, so I do not know how many of you have got this model but j thought I would ask. Anyone know if this is a solid knife? It's a slip joint and has beautiful CF handles and an n690 blade. I opted for the model with the wharncliffe blade. I picked that one because the blade shape looks just like the zt0770 which I love. I took a chance and ordered one, but I'm hoping some of you may have some good news, or insight about it!

I have several Viper knives, (Keeper, Start and Rhino). They are all well made , the Keeper is my favorite of the three.
I don't have the Dan 2 , but if the quality is on par with what I have , you should be happy.

I just got a Dan 2 yesterday. This is my fist Viper knife so I can't really compare it to any other models.

I think it's pretty sweet knife. It took me a few minutes of opening/closing to figure out the best way to open it with one hand :D but I have it down now. The initial detent on mine is pretty strong, but not to the point that it makes the knife very difficult to open. I'm sure it will break in with time.

I love how it feels in hand - very comfortable and natural!

The blade was a tad off center when I got mine, so I loosened the main pivot and the small fasteners on the back and adjusted the scales/blade - it's pretty close to perfect center now.

It's different than anything else I have, which is cool. Love that blade shape

Nice pocket clip. Rides deep and a bit tight, but still easy to insert and take out of pocket.

Pretty sharp out of the box

Overall pretty happy with this purchase.

No experience with that model, but the Vipers I have are very, very nice. I would actually say they have a distinct edge on the big 3 American manufacturers in terms of fit and finish and aesthetic design language, but they give up a bit in terms of blade steel selection and one or two practical design notes are slightly off. I would be surprised if the Dan isn't well worth the money.

I'll echo what Luc said. I have absolutely nothing to complain about with the knife. It does everything as advertised, is all around gorgeous for the price paid, and is incredibly functional.

How did you like it? must have reached you by now? I also have a ZT0770cf and like this better as the handle has a more rounded contour and not just flat scales and also the blade is ground down slightly thinner at the edge which makes it cut just a bit better right out of the box, for me at least :)

I love it! It looks beautiful, and functions wonderfully. I could not be happier with it. The blade shape is gorgeous and mine came very, very sharp as well. Glad I took a chance on getting one before they were all sold out! It's a good "out on the town"/sheeple kind of knife

GG have you done your famous phone book cut test with this one yet?

Nice sir I concur as well

As to the phone book cut, not just yet but it's grind is good so I know that once sharpened it would be able to.

Right now I haven't had the need to sharpen it yet
