Hi I'm new to this forum.I have a question in regards to a fair price on a specwar Viper MV 3 and this seems to be the place to get expert information on the subject.I was at a small knife show last sunday and a guy had a new in box specwar Viper MV 3 for sale,he was asking $1000.00 for it,is that to much to pay for that particular model.I did not buy it and now I'm wondering if I should have because that was the only time I have ever seen anything like that at one of the local shows.I would appreciate any information anybody could give me on this particular knife, also if I should see this guy at the next show and he still has this knife for sale what would be a reasonable price to try to negotiate.Thank You.

If it was indeed a Viper 3, $1000 was an excellent price, doubt you'll see one that low again unless you get it direct from Ernie. Just my .02.

For $1000 - buy the knife - if not please give me the vendors details!!

Regards,

Ed

What Lifter and Edmoses said. Oh yeah, give me the vendors details instead of telling Ed ;)

I would like to say thanks for the feedback, this is an excellent source of information. If I run across this guy next month I will definetly purchase this knife.I don't think the seller was a dealer,I think he was selling knives from a personal collection, because he had some high end pieces would not accept credit cards or checks as payment and would not give any contact information. This particular show was mainly a switchblade, bayonet and bargain shopping crowd.I know because I didn't have that kind of money on me at the time, and on a sunday morning had zero access to the funds.I did not think I would run across that kind of deal.I spoke to the seller at the start of the show and he quoted me the price,I was not sure if it was a good deal,at the close of the show he still had all of his knives.I will definetly look for this guy at the next show and hopefully become a Emerson custom owner. Thanks again for the excellent source of information on Emerson knives and knives in general.
