Got one of these new from bladehq and it had bad lock stick. And this is with a steel insert. I asked for a replacement which they did right away. Its a beatiful knife and I really want it to work....
This one had lock stick too but it seems to be getting better. But.... The flipping is weak..... you have to preload the flipper to get a complete locking flip. And ther is so much tebsion on the lockbar that it makes my thumb sore after a few flips.
So this is what I am thinking.
1. clean and lube the bearings.... and some lube on the detent hole and track.
2. play with pin tension and see what I get
3. if not enough improvement then adjust the lock bar tension some, the current lock is a full insert in.
4. This last step may make moving the lockbar easier, and help the drop flose, but will probably weaken the detent flipping preload.
5. Then maybe push the detent ball further into detent hole direction. This step, while I have done before, is tricky
Thoughts?
