last pic is a spine shot before cleaning the blade with some unleaded gasoline. i beat it hard with a log baton. i didn't get a chance to shoot a pic after the blade was cleaned but it look as new even after splitting a couple of loads of kindling.

Great pics Skunker, thanks for sharing!!! Does unleaded gasoline have much of an effect on either the blade finish or the res-c handles?

no effect at all, i use it for cleaning everything, even my gun parts

.

That's really surprising, I thought gas might strip the coating.

Great pics by the way

Thanks for sharing. I am starting to wish I had one !

So now that you got her warmed up - when you going to take it to that cinder block? :)

My B11 is also a tanker grey.

Nice.

As to using Gasoline to clean it, just hope you don't also use it for food prep!

My grandfather would always wash his hands in gasoline after working on equipment on his farm. The good old fashioned leaded kind!!!

And trimmed his nails with knives. First time I tried that I really regretted it!

He also worked at Boing when they used asbestos....and that sucked later in life for him.
