Just a quick shout out here to Virgin Mobile.

:thumbup:I have been using their phones now for over a year and all I can say is great job!

I recently switched to a $25 dollar a month plan instead of paying by the minute and man, it is so much cheaper.

They run off the Sprint network and coverage is good where I live in the sticks of SoCal's High Desert.

So all in all, I just wanted to post this in case anyone is looking at phone service, but doesn't want to pay twice the cost for the same services.

300 mins/unlimited web-text!

I've found them to be an excellent company. Before work gave me a blackberry for work/personal use I was with Virgin Mobile and was very pleased. Can't remember what it was about but when I had to deal with them the customer service was excellent.

Before I had a work provided phone. I used the prepaid phones from them, they worked very well for me at the time.

Been using them here in australia and the good sevice and experiences carry over internationally. Only company I have used for years, just got an awesome plan for a new iphone.

I use them for my boys with the $5/month plan ($15 auto-charged every three months) and the fact that all of the unused credit rolls-over means that I've never had them need a recharge mid-month since they don't use them all that much. Lots of things could be better but they can play a few games, check email, text, take photos, and even go online a bit for only 5 bucks a month. With all that I save on monthly plans I even let them upgrade their phones fairly often. If I had daughters I'm sure it would be another story.

My wife and I used Virgin Mobile cell phones for a couple years when we cancelled our monthly plan phones to save some money. We didn't use them a lot, and usually just paid $20 every three months to top them off. $7/month or so was pretty good, but unfortunately where we live out in the country, Sprint/Virgin doesn't have very good coverage, we were lucky to get one or two bars, often had dropouts.
