from what i have read, i just did a quick virginia law search, as a minor you can not carry any form of switchblade or fixed knife. since unassisted folders were not addressed in any sections i found, i will assume these are ok for you. if anyone else knows better, please correct me.

damnit...so like folders are alright? not the ones with the nail slots but the one with the little nubs for openers.

also is it ok if i just have the clip showing or does the whole knife have to be showing

and any idea on length

i found nothing regarding blade length or type of opener, ie thumbdisc, thumbstud, or flipper. and the law only specifically mentioned 'furnishing to minors' and follows that minors in possession is also illegal. keep in mind this is only the state law. you will want to check local city, or municipal laws as well.
concealed generally means hidden from view, whether partially or fully. folding knives are generally better stored concealed, ie in a pocket, fully hidden. i found no law prohibiting this.

Based on what i read of the state laws, you can carry a folder, any folder that is not a switchblade, that is

i dont know anything about the municipal laws pertaining to the city i which you live. you are responsible for knowing both.

i would also recommend that if asked, you say it is a tool, used for wk, gardening, opening mail, cutting fingernails, whatever. have a good reason for carrying it. dont tell anyone it is a weapon, you will raise suspicion immediately.

Yeah for sure so ill be fine carrying my small sebenza. Great

thanks alot for all your help,

Hi :)
I hope this helps.
Being 15, I wouldn't carry that straight razor... I can pretty much guarantee you that IF a police officer sees it, this officer will be very suspicious, and will most likely confiscate it as an 'offensive weapon', unless you can prove on the spot that you make a living as a barber/ hair stylist. Basically, If I pulled you over and even if you immediately declared the straight razor, I'd feel that I'd best find a legal way to relieve you of your extremely sharp, easily concealable, dangerous 'weapon', even if that meant having to confiscate the weapon and tell you to have one of your parents come down to my station and claim the item in question. I'd believe that the law officer would rather err on the side of caution. Ask any cop on this forum.
I would stick to carrying just the sebbie, more of a useful 'tool', easier to explain to authority figures...Besides, I know how some VA. police officers can be, so just trust me on this. You don't have a credible reason for the razor and they will know this.
Auto's are most likely illegal to carry in VA. unless you have only one arm. Check deeper into this or the Automatic Knives forum just down the 'hall'.

Razor and auto are unlawful to carry concealed in the Commonwealth.

Consider a Spyderco for EDC. If the police ask you why you're carrying a "weapon," be polite and say, "It's not a weapon -- it's a pocketknife."

A razor or switchblade in the hands of a juvenile will make you look like some sort of wannabe criminal. That is NOT the impression you want to convey to the police or the court.

As a knife will likely get you expelled from school, learn how to draw your belt quickly and strike with the buckle -- gives better range than a blade, with less chance of getting arrested.

When I was a youngster, a lot of the punks wore Levis jeans and the sqyare buckled "garrison belt" in them. This was a belt of about 1.5" to 1.75" width with a large aquare buckle that had sharp corners. If you pulled it out quickly enough and wrapped it around your hand, the buckle made a very good slashing weapon. Of course, this assumed that your pants were tight enough to stay up without a belt, a point not obvious today.
