Ok, how many of you are out there, including myself and Nemmie, who never shows his face around here anymore.

We can pick four spots and then vote. First off the Republiks of DC and MD are out for the meeting due to their political standing and issues involving knives. VA is pretty open to knife ownership so where will it be:

I propose:

Prince william Park

Any other proposals???

How about Smith and Walenskis Cigar and steak house. We can cut the steaks with our HOFSH's and smoke cigars all at the same time.

she can bring medical grade alcohol, that's good enough for us.....

...Ok, I may be a little "unenlightened" in survival gear and knives, but I do know 'Down South' and I definitely know alcohol. Was a huge beer drinker thru-out most of 20's and then moved on to premium Vodkas---My current fave is Belvedere, although Grey Goose will do in a pinch.

Location, Location, Location---Your best bet is Roanoke. Small enough to feel right, big enough to get in trouble in, and beautiful. Charlottesville is second pick, a little preppy compared to Roanoke's blue collar sophistication. NOVA is just too damn crowded and so is Tidewater unless you know someone who has a place on the water---big military area though. Richmond---can be a lot of fun or like DC, get lost and get killed. Back to Roanoke....You guys buying?

PS:I probably shouldn't admit this in here, but I like those little vanilla cigars (wussy)---especially when I'm fishing. The water and the smell remind me of my Dad's pipe...and I lost him way too young.
S
PS: Ask Silas...he's cool and lives Down South.

I will probably get fussed at because this is off topic....but it won't be the first time. Soooo, If I find my big, bad, SFNO and I want a smaller folder for more delicate tasks, what do ya'll suggest?

so you like-em small ehhh.

How about smewhere near Staunton or Wintergreen. That might be doable. we'll see if others chime in

Afton Mountain/Nelson Co is beautiful in Autumn. Cut off your arms and legs now for the price of a room there. Crabtree Falls is beautiful and has a nice campground. When I was a kid, there were no safety fences etc. there or at the other falls in the area. Young and stupid, we used to jump.....I think the beer had a lot to do with that. It wasn't until after I started working the ER that I found out what could happen if you jumped or fell and something got caught or there wasn't something there to break your fall....but I guess you guys are more into knives than trauma tales.

 Hear that fellas? Thats right, EL'COOLY'ENTAY!!! :p

I'm up, I mean raptnblue and I ;) are up for meeting with you all.

I would be up for getting together. I do not have a big collection by any means but I would still enjoy a Busse knife show and tell. I live around Lynchburg Virginia, about an hour from Charlottesville, an hour from Roanoke, 1.5 hours from Wintergreen ski resort, 2.5 hour from Snowshoe ski resort in WV, three hours from Richmond, three hours from Danville. I don't mind driving 2-3 hours to do this if we can get a few people together. If everyone who would definitly be up for this would chime in we could get the ball rolling. Then set a date.

yes, lets let this thread linger for a week or so so everyone can get around to seeing it, then we can set a place and then a date that is good for everyone.

I'll try anything once if it sounds like fun. Convention bores me. ;)
