With regard to making, buying, selling, collecting knives, does the virus and associated economic downturn change your plans?

I'm personally trying to make some lower price point knives just to keep the machines moving, kitchen stuff, etc. I'm also trying to keep production steady, even though I'm building inventory due to slow sales. That way when show opportunities come back, I'll have something to sell.

Fortunately my wife and I both work in government jobs, me for the state of TX and her in education, so our primary income is fairly stable.

Speaking for myself as a collector its going to have a huge impact on me.
I can see my disposable income shrinking and disappearing before my eyes so I will not be placing any more significant orders for awhile.
This may pass relatively quickly or it could be here for some time. The next 6-8 weeks will be key to see if they can find a regimen of drugs to manage and treat the lethality of the thing. If so things should improve fast and we can return to normality. If not we will continue to be hit by waves of outbreaks for a long time and that will be economically catastrophic.

there's a thread started a little while ago where we can focus on the effects of the virus on our community/industry, you can find it HERE

i only do two knife shows per year, and the one last sunday was cancelled. it is a mainly a hobby so it is not impacting my finances.
