There is a thread titled 'Photos are weird? Welcome to North Alberta, in the Wilderness survival forum that is locking up my computer.

I had problems with slow loading of my post yesterday on this paricular thread. Today when I submitted another post on this thread my PC locked up and froze. So I forced it to shut down and got the following warning on the screen

The following programs are still running: Photos you want weird? Welcome to north alberta. This program is preventing your computer from shutting down.

Does anyone else have issues. I for one will not go near that thread, as it appears to have something toxic in the photos.

A similar thing happened on another forum that I moderate, it was a virus of some sort, this might be a similar situation. You might want to report the thread to the moderator or a super as soon as possible,

True images can't be infected as they are not executable files. It sounds like there was an issue loading the embedded images and your browser became unresponsive. When you did the shutdown and got the warning you likely saw the thread title as listed on the top of the browser window.

I had no problem when it first went up so I just went over there and everything loaded quickly, no problem today either. It might have been a temporary glitch, we have had the occasional slow load.

As I remember, I had the same problem yesterday but without the warning, it just took forever for the post to enter leaving the computer hanging. It might be that I had problems with the first post after logging on.

Maybe I need to let the computer warm up more before using it? I am running vista, and the computer seems to run fine with it, and it doesn't take nearly as long to warm up as it did with XP.

What I do when I have slow loading problems that I can't explain otherwise is,
I open another tab and go to a different website and see if I have the same problem. (Never! :) )

Yup...Ya guys have to realize that there are ALOT of folks "surfing the 'net" now-a-days, so there are bound to be slow-downs on up-loads now & then.
