Hey everyone. I just had an idle thought. I really like the design of the SOG Vision series (the original and the X-Ray and the Night model), but I just cannot stand combo-edge blades on a high end knife like that.

I can stomach combo edge for a pure utility knife, especially if it's a cheap knife, but on an otherwise wonderful piece like the Vision it's just trashy. That's my opinion and if you disagree with me fine, but I can't stand it.

I remember when I wanted a Flash 2 I found out that it was available in an uncommon plain edge tanto model, and it got me to thinking that just because it's not in the SOG catalog doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

So I'm just curious if such a thing as a plainedge Vision in any version exists. I know companies will often make a limited run or exclusive run of a slightly different version of a model sometimes.

I heard that there were a very few plain edge Night Visions made, not sure how many, but I think if you posted on "knives wanted", you may hear from someone that has one.
Don't know about Mini or x-ray, but there may be a few of these also. If my memory serves me correct, there was a person who posted many months ago that had a plain edge N.V., not sure if it was for sale.
I like plain edge too, but also like serrations for tough paper cutting :D , hope this helps.

Wildmanh, you are just too good ! :D I knew there was some made, but I could not remember how many or when, thanks for the help.

I'm not a fan of partially serrated knives either. However, I have to say that my Sog X-Ray Vision has absolutely the nastiest serrations I have ever cut myself on :)

There were 12 plain edged Visions, Night Visions, and X-Ray Visions made. Here is a thread about them: SOG Vision Question.

Hope that helps. :)

I might comb Ebay for the regular version on occassion for one but I'm not in any hurry. :D
