Ron@SOG:
Any chance of plain edge versions? The same goes for the new Recondo model. I would really like to own a both a Vision and a Recondo, but I'd want them more, and buy them sooner if they were offered in plain-edge.
To be fair though, I just bought a Mini-Tsunami and like it a lot, but I really wish that there was a choice on the serrations. I am impressed with everything about the knife, but I can't shake the feeling that I have "settled" for something a little less than what I really wanted, simply because the manufacturer is not mindful of different consumer preferences.
1" of serrations on a fixed blade is pretty d*mn useless anyway if you ask me, and they really ruin the lines of the knife. 3.5" folders are another matter. If you are going to go 50/50 on a folder you might as well just serrate the whole blade. (Or preferably just leave it plain!)
I hope that SOG will take these concerns under advisement. The Mini Tsunami is my first SOG knife, and I really am impressed with the package. I actually would like to get a full-sized Tsunami, but it would be a LOT nicer in a plain-edged, mirror polished version. I know for a fact that many other forumites would agree that serrations generally give the "worst of both worlds" in use.
