Hi,

I recently picked up my first Arc-lock SOG and have been really impressed. I have looked at a few reviews of the Visionary 2 and most all seem to be positive. I know SOG has had a checkered past with some of their folders, but all the Seki City models appear to be GTG. Does anyone have any experience or opinions on this model in particular. My favorite knife is the BM 710 and this one looks like it could be right up my alley.

Thanks.

The Visionary 2 is the only model I have that after flicking the blade out with the thumbstud, I can flick the blade back in
by releasing the arc lock with my thumb with my forefimger under the blade spine and pulling it up. It still remains my
favorie EDC mostly because of it's thin design and low weight/bulk. The solid VG10 blade does retain the edge better than
my older Aus8a blades.

Agree. But to me it seems that there are quite a few followers of the SOG seki folders than it seems, but they just don't speak up. Maybe it's because SOG isn't popular on this forum, plus many people are turned off by SOG's other lower priced folders.

I think they would sell more and have a better following if they would simplify, or tone down, some of their designs, and limit the SOG billboards on some of there offerings. The Visionary appears to be one of the designs they got right in the looks department, some of them look too busy, like they are trying to hard to look "tactical". All of this is simply my opinion of course.

You're absolutely right. The probem is that SOG has handed their entire marketing over
to a "Marketing Specialist" company. Hence the direction it is headed.
Girlymann gave us the link to the company. Interesting at best, grab a barf bag at the worst.
Explains the tactical overkill mall-ninja trend and the logo everywhere.

The Visionaries, along with the other Seki folders are what remains of the "old" SOG that I knew
when I was younger.

Slick looking advertizing, but the knives take a backseat to the high speed low drag tactical styling. It made me think, what would a Trident look like with a nice stonewashed blade, Arc-lock, and a regular styled handle. I love the blade shape, everything else, not so much. One can dream I guess.....

Thanks again Ken for the commentary, I thought some other would have chimed in, but maybe no one else owns one of these.
