I am about set to pull the trigger on a Visionary II and I was wondering if any of you good folks had any experience with the knife. Thanks.

I have been carrying the smaller version for the past two years and absolutely love the knife. Don't think you will disappointed with the larger versions.

Thanks, Chris! I just placed the order.

Now to go and camp out at the mail box. ;)

My Visionary II arrived yesterday and I am thrilled with it!

The first thing that I noticed when I took it out of the box, was the solid 'heft' that the knife has. You can be sure that the nested, full length steel liners mean business. The next thing I noticed was the perfect blade centering. As well, there was zero blade play in any direction. Deploying, the blade feels like it is sliding on glass and it locks up solidly with a 'snick' rather than a 'snap'. It closes with that same 'snick' as well. The feel and detailing (fit & finish) on the Visionary II just screams quality. It is certainly the equal of my Benchmades, Spydercos or Kershaws.

The blade design is just dead sexy, with it's recurve and semi-polished edge, which is 'screaming' sharp and will easily tree-top hairs. The grind is even and symmetrical for the entire length of the powder coated blade blade and is nicely set off with the gold lettering on the blade. (A real touch of class.)

I could go on and on, but in short, the Visionary II is a beautifully made and finished knife that shouts 'quality' with it's clean lines, comfortable grip, precise f & f and secure heft. This sort of price vs. quality is what I look for in a knife and S.O.G. has delivered in spades.

Congrats on your new knife, Al. I sure like my Visionary 2! I agree with you on how smooth the action on this knife is. I have always thought that SOG's arc lock was one of the nicest locks out there. I edc this knife frequently. Even though it is a large knife, it is quite slim and comfortable in the pocket.

Thanks, rramjet! Yes, I did forget to mention how well the Visionary II carries. I especially like the ability to easily reach past it for other items in my pocket.

I also agree with you on the arc lock, it is smooth and secure. I haven't heard of any problems with the springs on the arc lock, so perhaps it has one up on the Axis lock. In any event, the Visionary ll is a package I like more and more each time I use it.

I liked it just as much as any other axis/arc folder. Really Solid. And mine was very smooth. The steel seemed a bit easier to sharpen than other vg-10 I have used. You can probably tell after you sharpen it. Although it got sharper than other knives I have owned. Easy to get hair whittling sharp!
Either way. Its a heck of a value. I want another.
