Working like a rocket-powered monkey recovering from the burglary and what has become a $320 oil change (I'd really like to "have a word" with the genius who decided that an aluminum oil pan should have a hardened steel plug.... I've done all the oil changes on the thing and been sure to use a torque wrench to twist to factory spec...)

Aaaaany who..........On "the list" was Satin Jack....an original one! I hadn't seen one of these for quite some time (years even) despite the fact that this one lives in my safe!

I'd forgotten how much I like this pattern but am now sure of why I'm enamored of the Boss Street! Simple, clean, dare I say-OLD SCHOOL, utilitarian Busse blades....'nuff said!

Got a sheath for it? If not let me know...I know a guy who knows of a guy who supposedly makes great sheaths.

:p;)

Sorry to hear about your oil pan Brian. Sucks when that crap happens, and it has happened to me on a number of occasions. Although I was the guy who was getting paid to fix these kind of things, but still Jiffy Lube and it's "special" drain plugs used to drive me crazy. Damn things were always breaking off.

Hope the shop repairs are coming along better than your oil changes!;)

Oku,

That wouldn't be the same SJ, I traded to you for the piggy back sheath system for my NO variant and an Emerson mini commander would it? Man I miss that knife.

JJ

Sorry to hear about your problem. Unfortunately you've had a bit of a rough run as of late. Hopefully things improve for you in a hurry.

Lets hope Jerry grinds a skinny Boss Street. I'd be in for one of them!

JJ, Yup, that'd be the one! Not sure if it or the original DC SFNO is my favorite Busse....aaaawwwwfully close!

Now, a skinny Boss Street.......kinda makes me go Hmmmmmmmmmmm:D

Solstice, LOL! Got it all done (shop, sheath and car)....not sure what to do with myself today since I only need to make stuff....almost too easy!

BTW, got a much better solution to the oil pan thing. Time-Sert. They make kits for several applications but happen to have one specific to oil pans. When done you have an insert with steel threads that can't fall out...or in! Pretty neat, and as I've already proven, pretty much "monkey-proof"

Hi Brian! Glad you checked in. :) It sounds like life is getting back on track except... for the oil-pan. :p

They are OutFreakingStanding!!:thumbup::thumbup:

Why they didn't come out with these when I first started in the industry I have no idea. Make HeliCoils seem like somebody's idea of a joke. Time Serts are solid and I've yet to have one fail on me. HeliCoils on the other hand will eventually fail...especially if the part has to come apart at some time in the future. Glad you discovered them Brian.:D

Good to hear from ya bro. Really likin' the BOSS'ssssss. ;) Reminiscent of a Loveless Hunter and already a Busse classic. One day the kids will appreciate 'em.

Out.

Sorry to hear about all the troubles. Could you have gotten another junkyard oil pan for less? Just sayin'?
I do miss my original SJ. B4 they were even called SHSJ:rolleyes:
I'll never have the $$ to replace it but that's ok. NO REGRETS!!!
Take care of yourself. One of these days I'm going to get my 1/100 SHBM out to you.....it's on my to do list.

Bob
