Visited the Opinel museum and workshop from 1890

Hello everyone , heres a video from a month ago when I was driving from France to Italy and stayed in a random hotel on the road , saw a brochure when checking in at 11pm , turned out I was in opinel birthplace , say no more in the morning I went in the museum , spent all spare money I had and came out very very happy , saw some cool custom stuff and also the workshop from 1890, hope you find this interesting.

I went myself years ago,the girl at the till pointed behind her and said that one belonged to my grandmother it was like a pin.

People dont realise it was a working mans/womans/peasents knife.

Though cheap to us it wasnt cheap to them they used them till they fell apart.



Did you see many cyclists?

They train in that area,I was in a hotel with the French youth cyclist boy did they take it all seriously.

The team bike repairer gave me some cleaner for my bike and a tote bag all very friendly until they where going for gold that is. 😇
 
Thanks for sharing. I’m currently on vacation in Switzerland and am planning a day trip to Lyon tomorrow. I may try to incorporate a stop in Chambery.

In this city you need at least a day , I sadly only had time to visit the museum , then you can go up in the mountains to see the huge statue and visit the factory , very cool stuff
