Visiting Denver Area: Spyderco Info Wanted

I was just there a week ago. No tours that were mentioned. The outlet store is great. Candi & Rachel were super patient and helpful. I got to play with over twenty models. They have one display case with a few discount items but everything else is MSRP. Its more like a factory store than an outlet store. I picked up a Chaparral. It was a great visit.

Oh well, I will probably visit the factory store, but unless I see something super cool, I won't be buying. I live ten minutes from Grand Prairie Knives. I have access to Spydercos at great prices at home already.

I live a couple of hours from Golden. Any knife knut should visit Spyderco when in the area. Their showroom is pretty impressive. Their prices are unfortunately MSRP, but it's cool to buy something made right frikkin there. I would at least pick up something there for the sake of the fun of it!

Haven't been in a long time but it was nice to be able to handle the knives. Some knife stores I feel like don't really want you touching their stuff. At the Spyderco store, it seemed like they were proud of their knives and wanted you to take your time and handle them. I bought three or four including some kitchen knives that I didn't even know they made at the time.

If you remember the Byrd line, I got a great discount on one and was able to look at several of them and get one that was really nice (there were some quality control problems with those but if you were able to hand select you got a really nice, heavy duty folder for cheap!).

I was there this past weekend with my brother and my niece. They had a sale on titanium and flippers going so we both bought a couple of knives (ended up being just a few dollars more than if I had bought online). We also got my niece her very first knife, a Byrd Finch. As stated above, the gals in the store were incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and seemed genuinely excited to be there helping. Absolutely worth a visit.

I made it to the Spyderco Outlet today, and it is a really nice store. The are actually a bit below MSRP, and I was tempted to buy a Manbug or Ladybug in ZDP 189. There was also a special run of Ball Lock Manixes featuring the logo of a radio station with etched signatures on both sides, but I did not bite because I am not into safe queens. The only one in the family who got a knife was my wife who asked me to get her a kitchen knife if I saw one at a good price. Me and my kids got gray and black Bali-Yo's that were on sale.

Who knows? I may break down and buy that Manix over the phone, but since I live so close to GP Knives, I cannot justify spending more to just say I got it in Golden.
