Visiting Titusville PA in July... Any must see/visit things/places?

I mean... The Great Eastern Cutlery and Queen Cutlery factories.

Also the old railway that you can still rise on. Very interesting. I think it's just called the titusville railroad.

Also the drake well, the first oil well in the world.

Of course, those aren't directly related to knives. But they definitely had slip joints used there, and are major parts of history.

You must absolutely visit Great Eastern Cutlery. Located at the old Titusville Iron Works. Get there before 3 PM and they will gladly give you a tour of the place. Real knives made by real people.

Agree with these guys, but, what else would draw someone to that neck of the woods anyways ;) other than those two places?

edited to add, not to take anything away from the good folks of Titusville, but I've been there and didn't see a whole lot else around that would make me drive there unless it was to visit GEC, which I plan to do in August for their open house, see you guys/gals there!

Also, if you are a fisherman, French creek is noted for its good fishing. Oil creek can be good too, and is very close. Either could be a nice walk and place for lunch.

Ask for the long tour of the G.E.C. factory, it will take about 45 minutes. It is very interesting
and You will learn something new. The craftsmen and craftswomen are wonderful.

I'll see ya there Gary!

Everything already said are good things to see and do. I would add that if you are a fisherman there are tons of good fishing places and lots of species to catch and if you hike there are many beautiful trails through the allegheny national forest

Heh.. yeah... extended family (in Oil City). I haven't been in 25 years, but this time it will be a couple days rather than just an afternoon while getting from point A to point B.

Thanks for the replies! More are welcomed.
