We had the opportunity to visit with auntie in Reno on 08/07/2015, and it was great fun! The food was out of sight, the discussions, lively, informative, funny as hell, and just good times. Kanchhi did the cooking, and it was truly a tasty experience. She is a vegetarian, but believe me, you wouldn't know it, because her dishes with meat was really good. I've had simple Nepalese food, and dinner definitely brought back some good memories from my week in Nepal for my friend's wedding many years ago. We got to meet "Dino in Reno", and Dino's a hoot, love the guy, and his wife! Found out he has relatives very close to where I grew up in SF. I got to see the infamous "shack in Reno", that was like walking into a shrine, totally flabbergasted. Auntie and Kanchhi were fantastic hosts, and we all had a grand time, don't remember when we had so much fun, and great tasting food. Well, enough blabbing, here's the pics. Bawanna - I even got a foxy Folly, check out the pic!

We first went to my cousin's Stars Wars themed wedding. Here's a pic from the picture booth!

My daughter checking out the roadster, next door.

Our neighbor from South San Francisco drove up his Bel Air for Hot August Nights, what a beauty, eh?

Dino's wife playing with my daughter! She had such a good time, didn't get back to the resort until 10:30pm, way past her bedtime, but it was so worth it!

Me, Auntie, and Kanchhi

Dino "Bambino, lol", and Randy

The wife and Auntie

The Dil Kumar Karda 10.25" and 6.4oz

Yuvraj Antler handled Dhankuta 12" and 12oz

Kumar YCS 18" and 34.4oz

Oh, Bawanna, BTW, that's Dino's FF, we was just messing with ya. I will get one sooner or later though...oooh, after handling Dino's, I really want one now!

We really need to have a get together one day in Reno, I'm sure it'll be a blast. Dino brought along some blades, beautiful specimens, I was going to try and haggle a few of them home away from Dino, but he's such a nice guy, I didn't want to drive him crazy. His handles are gorgeous, and he just hits them with some Tru-Oil, guess what I am getting this week????

Awesome pics Cul! Looks like you had a great time. You have a beautiful family, I can see the love on all your faces.

Glad to hear about your successful pilgrimage!
Seems like happiness will come to all who make this journey. :)

Awesome trip cul! Glad you got to meet up with Aunti and family. Man your daughter loves rat rods and big trout fishing! Shes gotta be khul:thumbup: What it the world do you have in your right hand! Looks like a hybrid Chitlangi Bowie and ....hmmmm??? I dont know? I like it!

For sure, happiness guaranteed!

That's Dino's knife in your right hand in the first picture, I remember it well, he let me hold it when I was there. I knew there was no way he would part with it so I didn't even torture myself asking. Forget what he called it but it was a custom. And it was NICE!

Him and his wife are class A people, I struggle with conversation being deaf as a cedar stump but we had a good chat, he's involved in a lot of cool fun stuff, reenacting and such.

The world famous Randy and Auntie and crew great people as you now know and confirm.

I have a large Foxy Folly, I long to get a smaller version, held one at the shack but mom wouldn't let me have it, lot of things she wouldn't let me have. I had the desire, I had the van, just didn't have the loot.

Glad you had a good time, I've been waiting for your report.

Also the Bel Air totally rocks, sweet car.

Kamidog. I raised my daughter right? I figured if she likes what "men" like, she won't want to date half a man, like a metro sexual or something. As u can see, she's still a girly girl with her dress, long hair, and frilly things.

I am not sure what is in my right hand, it's Dino's, he said it's a German sword, I'm sure if he sees this post, he'll clarify. But, yea, it's fricken awesome.

Mr. B, I cruised in the Bel Air every night downtown, what an experience, look forward to it every year.

It's right on the tip of my tongue, gosh durned it I can't remember what Dino called that thing. I even wrote it down, but looking through my super important notebook where I write down all the super important stuff I want to remember I can't find it.

It'll come to me. Dino help us here, it's driving me batty!

Last entry in my super important notebook says Ahlzeimers test, can't remember if I have one scheduled already or if I need to do that, maybe that will come to me too.

Looks like something that would be at home on a pirate ship. That is a cool Bel Air! Thats downtown stylin right there! Im a Rat rod nut too though. The Munsters car was probably at fault for that along with Big Daddy Ed Roth.

There were dozens of rat rods last week. They did a cruise last week, it must have stretched about 4 Blocks long double ended.

Agreed. I don't know he ever said Der but for sure Hauswehr.

Mr Tall, you totally nailed it once again.

Very fun pics, Cul. Great you took time to share. Sounds like you have some good memories tucked away. I do understand about your daughter. Let her be a girly-girl, but feed her curiosity, too. My granddaughter the Doctor is a superb shot with her muzzleloaders, totally pro-gun & knife (add a tomahawk here, too) brooks no guff from whiners besides delivering babies. Your thoughts will work!

Good to hear. Me and wife is always at odds. She's mainly a pacifist, but she isn't a pushover, she'll defend if her back is against the wall.

Me, well, I'm a wolf in wolf's clothing, you know. I couldn't handle a sissy, yuppie, or some other wannabe fake "man"; as a son in law.

Great post Cul! Looks like an awesome time. I love the stag on that dhankuta, really well done with some popcorn still showing. The YCS is beautifully done, too.

One of the best things about being "Dino in Reno" is that I have been invited to several WONDERFUL evenings... It is such a pleasure to visit.
Well, the speed of delivery if I win a shark attack is nice too. ;)
It was wonderful meeting you and your family. Tam (my wife) had a blast too, as shown with your photo.
