Visitor Messages...

Out of habit, I tend to delete old messages to keep my 'inbox' clean. Visitor Messages in my profile still show the number received and the sender, but the content is replaced by a 'message deleted' indicator. Is there a way to wipe everything clear? If not, I'll just leave whatever is received...

You can do a soft delete, but you cannot permanently delete them. Try tinkering with it.

Try tinkering with it?:D

I get the same thing....I tried tinkering a bit, but the message boxes are still there with "This message has been deleted " replacing the original message. Doesn't seem quite logical.

Or is there other tinkering involved? ;)

You know that you can have an "unlimited" number of visitor messages ?

You don´t have to clean the "inbox" , at least not for storage space .

True.
I think the OPs point, or at least mine, is one of tidiness and eliminating clutter. Deleting lets you know you have no new messages to respond to.
 
We don't allow permanent deletes of visitor messages in case we have to ban someone for abuse
