And had a great time, got 3 Spyderco blades sharpened & then after fingering/drooling over things wet dreams are made of we walked out with a few new blades.....HH6 got a pink Native she really likes...elder daughter picked up a Tenacious for working as a EMT & a really close family friend (single mom) picked up a Matriarch 2.

Then we went off to Mannie & Bo's Pizzeria for a extremely yumie lunch of superb pizza :D:D

Thus endeth the semi yearly pilgrimage to Spyderco Mecca :biggrin:

Dang.... I wish I lived close enough to go visit like that. Sounds like fun!

I was at the Golden Factory as well, about a week and a half ago. I live about 1600 miles away and was there on a family vacation and we happened to be near the area for a day. Spent a little over an hour inside. Got to hold a few (Southard, Ti Millitary, Southfork, Enuff, Manix, and a few others.) Picked up a grey delica, for $78 , but I wanted a knife to commemorate my visit at my favorite knife manufacturer. Was hoping they would offer a tour of the factory but knew that would probably not happen. I wish the prices could come a little closer to the prices you would find on the street. I bought a brand new Techno a few weeks ago for $155 and was outraged to see it listed for $240 at the factory. I guess they have to list them at MSRP though.

It's all in your timing. Last time I was at SFO (two or three years ago) they had clearance prices, down to about street value, on the Aqua Salt and orange Military and a free Cricket thrown in for purchase over a certain amount. I didn't plan it that way, just the luck of the draw. I'd been there before a few times and everything was close to suggested retail. That was a real productive trip (about 100 miles from home) since I bought a couple of ProTechs from Dave Wattenberg at the PKA show earlier in the day.

I last visited SFO on my last trip to CO in 2010. Plan to go again later this month. It is great being able to handle the goods in the presence of very knowledgeable sales staff. Highly recommended.

Every time I'm in the Denver area, I slip away to Golden for that place. (well that and hitting the various magic and juggling shops, the clubs, flea markets and of course, Casa Bonita)
