Vista License agreement analyzed by att'y

EULA agreement is funny thing anyway.

E.g. in Czech Republic, you can not enter into an agreement by clicking on button, not to mention that each party should agree the contract at the same time, which is obviously not possibly in way MS uses.

What does it mean is that according to Czech law, noone has ever agreed with MS EULA :)

No Vista for me. I'm sticking to my Win2000 :p

That's why Microsoft has constant legal battles with the EU. It seems we have better anti-monopoly / consumer rights lobbyists than America has.

"Don't."

He he he! In a nutshell.

Jeez, I have never been so close to converting to a Mac than reading about all the bullshit work that Vista creates. In my field (Photo/Graphics work) I am a loner with MS products anyway.

see the new tv ad by mac-the pc guy has a security guard behind him and the mac guy doesnt-

mac is laughing at microsoft in the ad basicly

I've been reading the downsides to Vista on this forum. Are there any upsides? I mean, what would motivate people to open up their hard disks to MS?

OK, thanks. Those don't affect me, so I'll probably gimp along with XP until I get a new computer that's either Linux or Mac. I used to be a big Mac fax through the Mac II generation, then I just couldn't afford not to be compatible with the business world so I switched over. Never liked it, just did it out of expediency.

That's a fact! I made the switch over to Linux in 1997, and have been M$ free ever since. Love it. Freedom from this kind of B$ is a wonderful thing.

It doesn't really matter what an "internet lawyer" thinks of the EULA. It only matters what a judge in a real court case thinks of it.

People whined and complained when XP came out about how bad it would be. And it ended up being the best operating system yet. I expect Vista to be more of the same.

That said, I need to buy some Apple stock. I'm amazed at how good their Brainwashing, um I mean Marketing Department is. ;)

Word.

Macs are overpriced, over handled, over controlled. I work at a computer networking company and I have had to deal with macs. Mac OS X is a collection of operating systems not a single version. Early on, it was way, way, way less stable than even WinME! Now it is on par with WinXP AT BEST, but at a much higher cost because most software and all hardware costs more, plus you always have to make special arrangements to work with anyone else because they have a pc. Most mac users end up with a pc also if not at work, then at home therefore further increasing the price.

Graphics people work Macs because they were raised on them not because they are more powerful. That hasnt been true in several years. And have you noticed how proud they are about the new intel chips they use? and how they can run Windows stuff too? why is that? I thought macs were the shiz?

Sure macs are great and do everything so well - as long as you want to pay out the ass and only do what Apple says.

Using a mac on the net is like being the only veggitarian in a steakhouse. It will stay that way at least through the product lifecycle of Vista. Linix is in the same boat too.

But I still hate Micro$oft.

:)

I just got a computer that came equipped with Vista and aside from a little problem installing it on my router I have had no problems with it at all. I don't even have the idiotic problem with explorer or firefox locking up and shutting itself down.

Dn't forget to get on the internet so MS can go into your hard drive and look at all your files and programs.
