My adopted 17 year old grandson uses my scrap ivory and makes letter openers and jewelery with it. This week end he set up at a crafts show and made $600. Last night he gave me the checks to deposit and one of them for $30 was made out to Vivian Knight. I asked him what the deal was and he said that it must of been from the old lady that bought the hair barrette . It seems when she was writing out the check he was explaining that the ivory was made blue by the mineral vivianite.

Well, on the one hand, that's REALLY funny. On the other, the bank probably didn't just go along with that one, did they?

Fortunately we were able to get in touch with her, got a new check and she laughed about it.

Funny, I find myself doing that if I'm talking on the phone, writing or chatting while the TV or radio is going. I've gone a couple of sentences before I finally caught myself.

That is a good story. My father-in-law went to our local small town hardware store recently and picked up some items, wrote the check out and signed it Nut and Bolts! When he got home with his nuts and bolts, the hardware store owner called to see if he had adopted a new name.
