well, I let a new person play with my Police SE about a week ago. He was looking at it and playing with it, and snapping it open much as I have alwase done. Later that day I noticed the locking bar was bent inward noticiably. The knife no longer locked open correctly and there was alot of blade play. I stoped carrying it for a few days, letting my old Endura pick up the slack, and I wondered about how long it would take to get back if I sent it in...
I ended up removing the locking bar and clamping it in a vice, I heated up the bend and gently tapped it back into place. After re-assembling the whole deal it works as good as new
This will no doubt void my warrenty, but I'm not worried, if I ever damage this knife to the point where it is no longer of use I'll just have to pick up a new one
The moral of the story is; don't let somone else snap your knife open, if it's going to break at least break it yourslef
