The statement:

"Many of the original
scrolled-buttcap khukuris that I offered in the recent past were in fact leftover HI
khukuris (not "rejects" as anybody who bought one will attest to) that Bill didn't buy from
TB. I was doing TB and Lalit a favor by buying them."

The truth:

Bill never bought a single khukuri from TB, not one. All purchases were made by Pala, Jeevan, Gelbu, Nabin and Sanu -- all family in Nepal.

C'mon Bill. That's purely semantics. To suggest that because you deal THROUGH somebody you didn't buy from TB is silly. The bottom line is that Shop I khukuris came from TB. But if that's not enough, I quote:

"For the past eight or so years our only supplier has been shop 1." (Post 5545 from Bill Martino, dated 4-30-99).

. . . Ganga Ram Bishwakarma said, ""I've heard of you fellows. That [Bill Martino] is the one who does business with that Gurkha Boy down near Dharan." He is referring to Til Bai who is in his 60s as a Gurkha "boy."
(Quote by Bill Martino, 7-28-99).

When we talked with Kami this morning he told me that my Gurkha brother, Til bai, had to undergo kidney surgery . . . This means a delay in production . . . "
(Bill Martino, Post 5545, 7-28-99)

In other posts, Bill spells out his adopted brother's name as Til Bahadur Bishwakarma in Dharan!

That's right. Til always referred to me as Dhaju or my American Brother. I have a couple of letters somewhere from TB in which he opens, "My dear American Brother."

We used only shop 1 for production models but Pala would buy village models, too, sometimes an antique, and they were sold here.

I never laid a single paisa in Til's hand, never bought a single khukuri from him, never met him in person and have never been to shop 1. The decision as to where one got khukuris was always in the hands of Pala and his family. I would call Pala, Jeevan, Gelbu, Sanu or Nabin and tell them what I needed and they would buy and send it to me. I sent the money to Pala just as I do today and they took it from there.
