Th statement:
"As for the "discontinuation" factor, I believe that the reason they stopped building
scrolled buttcaps has something to do with the fact that they no longer have access to
TB's kamis, who pioneered the scrolled buttcap."
The Truth:
I have seen 200 year old khukuris both Indian and Nepali that had scrolled buttcaps. These were not pioneered by TB's Kamis.
The khukuri which served as the model for TB's version of the scrolled buttcap is a 60 year old model made by a kami in Salyan.
It is our logo khukuri. This was not TB's kami in Salyan pioneering this buttcap.
During Dasein Gelbu was contacted by four kamis from TB's shop who were seeking employment at BirGorkha. We have all the access we need. Whether Pala and Gelbu hire these kamis or not is up to them.
If the person who made the post thinks that the kamis of BirGorkha who produce the BirGorkha Kothimoda, the Everest Katana, The Yvsa Special and other such models cannot make a simple scrolled buttcap then he knows even less about the manufacture of khukuris than I thought.
