Hi Folks -

I was shooting some lanyards from DahlKen here on BF (very nice lanyards by the way...) and I decided to take a few shots of my Volt, which has been with me a lot since I bought it (thanks 2 brothers!).

Here is a side-by-side with my Acies -

I love them both!

Any chance the clip from the Acies looks like it will fit on the Volt? The Volt will have to have a different clip before I start carrying it a lot.

Hi FlaMtnBkr -

No - not at all - the Acies has two holes for mounting, and it just bolts on, where the Volt has one hole, and it is recessed into the scale.

Wow, I had not realized the clip was a stubby. I like my knives to have a clip that covers at least 35-45" of the handle. If it is a frame lock, the the clip sjhould really touch the Hinderer stop lock if not on top of it. That is something I could most certainly change ASAP. Just a personal preference I suppose.

Great pictures too mqqn as usual. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks RevDevil -

I know that STR has drilled one for a clip (serratededge's picture of his knife above), but it WOULD be interesting to see a clip made by STR that fit into the factory recess and, as you envision, was longer to rest further down the scale.

After carrying the knife for a month or so, I have not had any problems with the clip's function, other than it is a bit sharp on the edges.

I wish I could have gotten in on that Volt. Totally missed the boat.

What's the story on the Volt? Please don't tell me Kershaw comes up with a cool knife and then limits production.

Ok, so RJ Martin designed the Volt... no wonder it looks both cool and practical.

Hi Rob -

Unfortunately, Kershaw only made about 300 or so Volts, and about 70 were sold as blems (which is what I have).

They do pop up on the 'bay, and I suppose you'll see some in the exchange occasionally.

It is a really nice knife, and worth the hunt.
