Volt SS poor pivot

I picked up two Kershaw blades the other day, a Cryo and a Volt SS. The Cryo is amazing. I really like the coating on it and the fit and finish is top notch however it's a bit small for me to carry every day so I got the Volt as well. I really want to love this knife but the first time I closed the blade I could hear and feel a roughness in the pivot that just doesn't seem right. The best way to describe it would be to say there's sand or something gritty trapped inside. Has anyone else had an experience like this? If so could you perhaps shed some lite on how you fixed it?

Many thanks

Clean it? You could try washing it in warm water,,,, then blow out the excess water and give it a good lube... Or flush it out with something like WD-40.

If that doesn't work, they're not too hard to take apart and clean, (just don't take it apart closed if it's a Speedsafe knife).

Or contact Kershaw and send it in under warranty.

Thanks for that. I wasn't sure about opening it up but I went for it anyway. The grease that was packed in there was full of some sort of grit. I cleaned all the pieces really well and relubricated them. Once I got everything back together the action was twice as fast and just as smooth as my Cryo. Definitely satisfied with this knife now.
