Von Dutch - Not just an annoying hipster clothing brand

Somehow, I missed the golden age of hot rodding, so my only impression of "Von Dutch" was the logo plastered in pink on hats, T-shirts, derriers, etc.

Apparently, he was an actual guy, and pretty handy around the machine shop. Made knives, guns, and lots of humorous hand-painted signs. Here's a link to a recent auction of some of his stuff:

I have a cap of his, and yeah, he is the master of pin-stripping. Didn't know he made knives. They look pretty nice.
