I bought my first Vosteed knife about a year ago. At the time, I didn't know anything about the brand but heard that the Vosteed Raccoon was a good knife for the price. When I got the Vosteed Raccoon in, I couldn't believe the quality of the knife, fit and finish, centering, grind, factory edge, etc., etc. The blade was so sharp when I got it that I cut myself 4 times the first night I got it just by fidgeting with it. Instead of being angry, I was pleased. Now, I have several Vosteed knives and the more I use them, the more I admite them. This is knifemaking the way it used to be with attention to detail and consistent quality control resulting in a satisfying consumer experience.

Well get them both, but depends on your use of each before I recommend which one you get. I’m looking to buy the mini only because I have the full size model. Here is the mini. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed with either one.IMG_1036.jpeg

Well I could have told that, sorry for not mentioning how hard it is to find a psyop in micarta available last I looked Whitemountain had the titanium models available
That's okay, I found one for sale on White Mountain and already ordered the regular size. Yeah, I'm like you about usually just buying both and carrying which one I need or prefer on a particular day. For example, I have the Benchmade regular and mini grip. I usually carry the mini grip, but it just depends. I also have the Benchmade Osborne in regular size and now am wanting the mini version - you can't win, so better to just get both! lol

You guys need the new Psyop in your life!

Vosteed has been very good to me. Here are the ones I’ve got.

Racoon was my gateway into Vosteed. Civivi was bringing out bangers but then it seemed their designs were boring. Vosteed caught my interest for cleaner and better designs.

All have been sharp as heck. Detents all suffer on them, bounce off as they drop shut you have to watch em. But past that everything on them have been stellar.

The Thunderbird is a fidget king. Marten is a classy knife but the finger choil is to big. The new Psyop is just the right size. The fixed Mink is beyond comfortable in the hand with a sheath that’s top.

In terms of Chinese budget blades Vosteed takes the prize in my humble opinion.

I have a Raccoon and like it! Really classy design and really smooth. Reminds me of the civivi but I like the top liner lock on the top!

Just got my Vosteed Psyop regular size and love it!!! I'm thinking of getting the mini too when I can afford it just to be able to switch depending upon what I'll be doing on the day. Great knife! Thanks for the recommendation!

Sharpened a racoon I think, recently, in NitroV and sharpened easily and took a very sharp edge. Action was nice and build quality seemed good. The owner loves it, and it is way sharper now than it ever was.

I've been generally impressed with the Vosteed knives I've handled. Not perfect in that the Vanchor Lock Corgi I tried had a super weak detent, but the other stuff has been great.

Their Mink was my favorite production fixed blade of 2024. Super good for what it is. Here it is in the first picture alongside the excellent Kizer Helmet. The Helmet is special in that, like some other recent Kizers, it's a budget knife that runs on dual-row bearings.

My other favorite from Vosteed is the Nightshade. This is a flipper-version wherein I dyed the scales purple. I also have the thumb-stud version and it's awesome too.

Very nice! I have never heard of the Helmet before. I need to check that out... when I have more money.

I have been recently interested in Vosteed as a brand. Do you think they heat treat their steels well compared to other 'value' oriented brands (civivi/kizer)?

The Helmet sort of flew under the radar and might be discontinued now. Definitely worth checking out if you find one. It's relatively cheap, runs Nitro-V, and runs on multi-row bearings. I don't know why but Kizer never seems to highlight it when they do budget knives on mutli-row bearings. Not many companies do that and it's a nice touch. There are more but some notable ones include the Towser K and The Swedge. Heck, the latter was part of their ultra-budget Laconic line in 9Cr18Mov!
