Ethan is a good friend and I know many here are Ethan Becker fans (and thrilled that BK&T is back in his hands). I thought you might want to help Ethan out in another part of his life, his day job, so to speak. While I am sure many already know this, to others it may come as a surprise that Ethan is the editor of the all-time best-selling "Joy of Cooking" cook book. It was originally authored by his grandmother and he and his wife Susan continue the tradition, having earlier this year released the 75th Anniversary Edition. The new Joy is the best yet (a great gift for any cook, BTW!) and has just won the cookbook category of the Quill Awards, Best Cookbook of the Year. This is the publishing industry's equivalent of the Oscar, Emmy, etc., and is voted on by those in the industry, booksellers and librarians, etc. Joy is now eligible for the Book Of The Year award, which is voted on by the general public.

Please help our friend Ethan by voting for Joy of Cooking at:

Joy is the third book down in the right column. Balloting ends Wednesday, October 10th, so VOTE NOW! (and please pass this along)

Happy to vote for him. I have had my copy of "Joy" for about thirty years and when our two sons and one daughter went out on their own they each received a copy from their mother and I. A veritable encyclopedia of cooking info. A must have in any kitchen.

Hey Doug...

I'll Vote for that!!

Ethan was kind enough to autograph a card for my mom.. She was thrilled with it. The card is still tucked in the book...
One of the nicest people I've met..

Not only will I vote for the book, I will buy it. BH&G and Betty Crocker are just about used up, recipe wise.

Slash the vote!!

Seriously, though, that is the one cookbook I actually use. If anyone reading this ever needs a wedding gift for a young couple, see if you can find out if they have this book. If not, buy it for them.

I just decided what to get my mom for Xmas.

A BK7

Just joking I will get her a Joy of Cooking.

Just voted!
My parents gave the book to my wife and me when we were married 37 ago. Mom had her book on the shelf in her kitchen.
I did not know about Ethan's relationship to this classic book.
Thanx for the heads up on the vote.

I am awaiting the re-start of production. I really want a Campanion.

What a trip
I got that book when I was about 13 yrs old
I was a "latch key" child so I had to cook for my self after school
I still use it often 20+ years later
Has a few stains on the banana nut bread recipe page!!!!!

Also voted and I just picked up the book for my wife today,

does that mean we can get some more tidbits about the new metal implements to come?

Ethan, Have you ever thought of making a line of kitchen knives to complement the book?

good luck
