Hey All,

Need some help deciding here.

Which one of the following CRKs should I keep and use?
A) Umnumzaan Tanto
B) Sebenza Small Insingo
C) Large Regular Sebenza

Also, I am leaning towards keeping the Insingo, but I really want a CF scale for it. Any suggestions on who is the best for making custom scales for CRK knives?

There all great, and for different reasons. But if you decide to let go of the large regular let me as I have been looking for one.

B or C
I edc a "B" and love it but the reg looks terrific to me, here a smaller is better maybe you have no restrictions or fears to take it out
no A bec I hate tantos, the Ummi looks good but wouldn't use it actually

1.) I have had the tanto umnumzaan. I found it to be an amazing slicer, but that was about it. The tanto looks cool and all but is and will never be as functional as a regular pointed blade. Out of the 3 umnumzaans that I have owned ( stat-tac, tanto, regular ), the regular version is hands down the best. The star tac looks nice, but its grooves are sharp and makes it uncomfortable to hold tightly when in use. After stating that awhile back, I got several PM's from others stating as much, but did sold them rather than state as so. I sold mine because of this only. The tanto felt great in hand just like the original, but the blade shape as I stated is limited. I would say to let that one go.
2.) I dont have any experience with the insingo. I do want to get one eventually and I just missed out on one recently. I would go for the large myself as thats what I prefer.
3.) The large regular is by far my most favorite sebenza design to date. ( I really love the large P sebenza, but they are too rare to go and on about ). The large regular has everything I love about CRK. Fit and Finnish is perfect CRK Craftsmanship. The regulars handles are rounded and fit your hand perfectly. The blade shape is absolutely perfect. I HATE the super pointy 21 blade shape. The large regular just has it all and thats I carry daily. Lately its been a large regular In God We Trust. I got it used and scuffed, so I can use it away.

Out of the 3 you mentioned, it would be hands down the large regular sebenza.

I'd have to keep them all, but if had to chose one, it would be the Large Regular without question. Other two are still in production and you can always get another...

As far as a CF scale goes, I would check with Barry H.

Hope this information helps.

Yes, as mentioned the large regular will be harder to come by should you have seller's remorse. Barry H. and Peter R are two good scale makers.

^^^This. I have zero experience with the Insingo but I want one in a bad way.

Large Regular Sebenza.

Why? Because they are no longer in production!! I would never let go of mine even though I don't carry it as much anymore.

Results, the Larger Regular will be kept and stuck in me safe, the Umnum will be a goner but it has been enjoyed and the little guy will become the EDC.

The reason I ask is that I moved recently and they are not very knife friendly, and the process to move has been involved!! i.e. immigration is the biggest pain in the ass of any place I have lived.

As for the scale, I want one for the small seb insingo as I have CF scales for some of the other knives I intend to keep. I do not know what it is but I love CF!!!

The Large Regular is the clear and obvious choice, it's probably the best folding knife of all time. That said, I carry an Umnumzaan just about every day.

OOOH, I love my umnum tanto dearly, don't get me wrong in the sense that the knife is fantastic, but the last time i pulled it out to use it the person next to me said "Holy F%^^". While the legal limit is 4.1 inches, most cops here don't know their own head from ass when it comes to the specifics of the laws and bamm it will disappear into someone's pocket.
