I finally broke down and bought a medium voyager tanto and I am very impressed. I really like the new handles and clip. I had been waiting for a metal clip on these models for a while and I'm glad that they finally changed them. Sweet little knife. May be a new EDC. Gotta play with it some more first. What do all think about these knives?

I've had a couple of those Medium Tantos. They are VERY well-made, and a GREAT value. One of MY EDC knives is a plain-edge Clip-Point Medium Voyager, and it has served me well.

Glad to hear you like your new Voyager. I don't have one with the new clip yet but am thinking about getting a Gunsite so we shall see. IMO, these are great knives.

Absolutely love my little tanto!! I started carrying it in anticipation of getting my new medium clip-point voyager. (have a clip-point in the old-style handle and wanted one with the new-style to go with my medium tanto) I just carried it to get used to the feel while I waited for my clip-point. Now the clip-point is sitting on my desk and the tanto is with me always!!

I've read all the threads about how tantos just aren't all that usefull a utility shape, but I've found plenty of things to cut at work where the tanto point excells!! For example: the point produced where the primary edge meets the secondary edge just rips right thru tape on those Fed-ex and UPS packages!! As a comparison, I carried my old-style clip-point voyager to work for few weeks, and cutting the tape on those same style boxes, the "belly" of the clip-point's blade just seemed to slide off of the tape. It took a lot more pressure to cut thru the tape. I understand that its just a function of design, and that the tanto is actually ripping thru as opposed to making a clean cut. But, back to the main topic, I'm enjoying my little tanto so much that I'm thinking about getting a large (4" blade) tanto to keep it company!

Voyagers are great knives. I have the clip and a tanto in large (4") size, old style (plastic clips) and have absolutely no complaints. Excellent steel, strong locks, no wobble after thousands of openings, easy to carry, no corrosion problems.

Matt:
I had a Med. Voyager Tanto as an EDC for a couple of years and thought it served very well. It saw light utility use and I never really had occasion to severely test it.
Fit, finish and function were all good. Pretty good value for the buck. Too bad I lost it at a picnic....bummer. Spent a couple of hours looking for it but someone must have picked it up.

I am quite sure you will be happy with it.
