I guess I'm kind of late getting to the SOG party. Man what awesome knives. I've been checking out the Vulcan and the Mini Vulcan. I was hoping to see a picture of the two models side by side to see the size comparison between them. I looked through the picture thread with no luck. If one of you guys that has both could post a picture it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help.

I don't have a side by side pic to post but I just got a mini tanto today, this is my 4th SOG and it's the best folder so far. Perfect size for EDC nice tight blade no play at all smooth operation truly a one hand operated knife. I really don't see why they get a bad rap from so many people here.

I've been EDC'ing a mini vulcan since Dec and its a great knife. It really is the perfect size for a carry knife and I love the shape and angles of the blade. You can't go wrong with a vulcan.

I have the VL-01 which is the large clip point version with no serrations. It is a terrific knife and the pocket clip is also terrific. VG-10 steel is also good. The difference is only .5" between the two. Me.. I took the bigger knife.. I like a blade that is 3.5" in size.

^As tight as a knife can lock up. When adjusted right, there is zero blade play. Once "broken in" I can hold the knife level and release the lock and the blade will almost fall all the way into the handle.

So in other words, its very loose and smooth when you want it to be but it locks up solid.
