Well, I promised you guys some pictures of my new Vulcan, so here they are.

What the pictures don't convey, is the silky smooth blade action that opens and closes with a slight flick of the wrist. The only thing that is comparable in smoothness is my BM Rift. The Vulcan slips into and out of the pocket with ease and virtually disappears due to it's low ride clip.

Another thing the pics don't properly show is just how massive the blade is. A very nice hunk of VG-10, profiled and sharpened to be 'stupid sharp' along it's entire blade length. The flow of the blade design is a work of art and no re-profiling is required. The fit and finish on the Vulcan is superb and more than holds it's own against the other big players. It is evident that SOG produces some fine knives and the Vulcan is one of them. The Vulcan will be my new EDC and when I have put it through it's paces, I shall do a mini-review on it.

Thanks for looking.

Awesome pics bro,
I might have to get that plain edge version too.
In the mean time, this is what Vulcan is capable with very little force

Thanks, guys!

Yes, what pictures don't adequately show, is just how strong the Vulcan is built. It is easily the strongest knife I own. If I had to compare, I would say that it brings the fit and finish of a Spyderco, the lock security of a Benchmade Axis lock, and the heavy duty construction of an Emerson. Now, off to a day's play. :)

I found that attaching a split-ring through the lanyard hole makes extraction very quick and easy.

On yours, does the tip stick out just a little bit past the metal "fins" (for lack of a better term) on the butt end of the handle? I got mine two years ago (they might have fixed it since then) and it's gotten stuck in my pocket more than a few times because of the tiny blade protrusion.
