So i've cut myself twice in the span of two days. Was i cutting anything, nope. Clipped in my front pocket, while the knife was closed, that's the culprit.

Has anyone had this happen? I'm constantly reaching into my pockets for money, phone, mp3 player, pen. And lately instead of having it in my back pocket, i've been keeping it in my front pocket so i could cut some things up(i'm moving to a new apartment). And because sog wanted to put it's name a few more times on the knife, the handle is lessened and these little metal guard plates are put up with the sog name cut out.

While i did really enjoy the knife when i first got it, i've been liking it less and less the more i carry it around. The edges throughout the knife(handle, clip, arc lock, etc) are rather pointy, and have been taking to the leather products in my pocket, or if scooting out of the car(with it in my back pocket) has been grabbing at my leather seat.

I feel this may just end up being set aside for in the apartment when needed or left in the car. Because i do see myself jabbing my fingers more so if carried, or may end up really ruining my car seats.

My dad's Vulcan does not do that, but mine does. Depending on the particular pair of pants I'm wearing, its tip will sometimes snag on the inside of my pocket and start to open, which prevents me from pulling the knife out. Mine has also experienced major vertical play (somehow disappeared on it's own), and there have been a few instances where it has refused to close smoothly, like it's getting hung up on something. It confuses me to no end.

I haven't experienced any blade play with it ......yet. But i have had the lock not want to disengage properly a couple random times.

Hopefully you didn't incur any damage to your pants when it snagged. I'd be pissed if it did it to my clothes, since the clothes i tend to buy aren't ones i want to have to keep replacing.

Just looked at it right now, and i noticed that it's not centered either. Is yours centered? Which vulcan do you have?

I've been carrying my mini vulcan every day for 1.5 years and I've never gotten cut by it when it was in my pants. I've also never had it not want to disengage or disengage smoothly.

Are you guys keeping the knife clean? Every few months I remove the blade from the handle and give it a good cleaning. I've never found anything surprising in it but it doesn't hurt to look.

Mini would be the key word for you probably. I know my picture is a bit dark, but there is nothing protecting my fingers from that tip.

clean yes, the arc lock just tends to stick a little sometimes.

for the price of the knife, i'd think something like centering wouldn't be an issue.

I have the full size Vulcan and keep it clean the best I can. Taking it apart voids the warranty, which I think is absurd. :O
